Tyler Notch is in his first year as an Assistant Coach with the Lamar Basketball program.
Prior to Lamar, Notch most recently served as the Special Assistant to the Head Coach at Indiana State University (home of the great Larry Bird). During his time he assisted with all daily operations, as well as player development. He assisted with the development of all-conference guards Devonte Brown and Brenton Scott, who won the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year award in 2015. Notch graduated from Indiana State in 2016 with a MS in Physical Education (performance). 
Prior to Indiana State, Notch was a Volunteer Assistant Coach at DePauw University. While at DePauw he assisted the staff in all aspect of daily operations, scouting, recruiting, and player development. During his time he coached Tommy Fernitz and helped him achieve All-American honors. The Tigers had a winning season each year Notch was there. He graduated in 2014 with his BA in Sports Medicine.
Coach Notch is originally from Cheyenne Wyoming.  He has two older sisters and eight nieces and nephews. He has spent the past 8 years in Indiana, where his 7 month old Husky (Apollo) lives.
