Rodeo Hits the Road

Lamar Community College Rodeo is once again on the road as their competition reopens.  They will kick-off their spring season on March 4-6 at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming. 

Leading the Runnin' Lopes is LCC sophomore Melanie Roman.  She is currently fourth in the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association national rankings, which compare regional leaders on points garnered to date. 

With Roman's leadership and the help of Jayla Reed and Ashten Marchant, the LCC women's team sits in fourth place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region.  Roman is currently leading the barrel racing in the region and Reed sits at eighth in the event.  Marchant is has taken the fourth place standing in goat tying. 

The LCC men's team sits at eleventh place in the region.  Kadyn Hicks is leading the men's team in points and currently sits in fifth place in steer wrestling.  Other contributing team members include Cade Alton who is twelfth in saddle bronc riding and two bull riders: Blue Wilcox  who is ninth in the event and Tom Straley who sits at fourteenth.
