Amy Schmeckpeper enters her third season as assistant softball coach with the Lamar Community College softball program. In her time at LCC, Schmeckpeper has worked primarily with the pitching staff, helping to improve the team ERA from 8.15 (2015-2016) to 4.99 (2016-2017).
Prior to becoming a Runnin’ Lope, Schmeckpeper worked as an assistant softball coach at her Alma Mater, the University of Puget Sound. She has also been involved in coaching ASA club teams, working as an assistant for the U18 Royals from Tacoma, Washington, and as a head coach for the U16 Boise Blast from Boise, Idaho.
Schmeckpeper played softball for the University of Puget Sound for two years after transferring from the College of Idaho where she also played for two years. Originally from Idaho, Schmeckpeper played for Timberline High School where she helped her school to two district title and one state title.
Schmeckpeper holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Master’s degree in Teaching, both from the University of Puget Sound.
