Bio

Travis Greenlee is in his second year as Head Rodeo Coach at Lamar Community College, bringing a lifetime of experience in rodeo, ranching, and coaching to the program. Rodeo has been a central part of Travis’s life from an early age, and his passion for the sport, along with a strong belief in education, continues to shape his coaching philosophy.

As a high school competitor, Travis competed in every event except cutting, earning State Championship titles in Bareback Riding and Saddle Bronc Riding, along with the prestigious All-Around Cowboy honor. He went on to earn a full-ride scholarship to Odessa College, where he excelled both in and out of the arena.

Following college, Travis transitioned into professional rodeo, focusing primarily on the roughstock events while continuing to pride himself on his versatility to compete at either end of the arena. His involvement in the sport extends far beyond competition, including raising bucking bulls, judging rodeos, working as a pickup man, and playing an integral role in the production and operation of numerous amateur rodeos.

In addition to his rodeo background, Travis brings over 20 years of experience teaching and coaching at the middle and high school levels. His approach emphasizes work ethic, accountability, and personal growth, with a commitment to developing student-athletes both in and out of the arena.

As head coach, Travis is focused on building a competitive, well-rounded rodeo program that develops student-athletes both on and off the dirt. His recruiting philosophy emphasizes work ethic, coachability, and versatility, while creating an environment that challenges athletes to reach their full potential. Through a strong foundation of fundamentals, mental toughness, and accountability, Travis prepares his athletes for success at the collegiate level and beyond, ensuring they leave Lamar Community College better prepared for life, not just rodeo.
